Wanted to share how my eyes work with jewelry making.  I have good light,  magnification from 7.5 - 10 powers.  As I can not see details unless I have contrast, magnifiers come in handy.  I think that is why I like to paint and use colors.  My hubby ad friend also assist when I miss things.  For close up work with only 5% left in each eye when they both work is like looking thru a straw. So because jewelry is small it just fits even though there are blind spots, I can still do this.  how I find my errors in jump rings, strings from glue, ink, or with my painting is with the camera.
I take pictures with my Nikon J1 with either 4x or 10x macro power lens added  or I upload the pics into windows picture gallery and crop pictures to enlarge.  This is when I see issues with my jewelry that I may need to fix.  Then it is back to the Studio to fix whatever and try again.  Thank God that the camera can act as my eyes.  So if you want to try my challenge make something with just two straws for your vision and then have one straw closed off because that eye has taken the day off.  Distance is better.

Anyway,  It is an eye disease that has no cure and will only get worse with time.  So I am truly blessed that God has given me the ability to do what I love making jewelry.
